Operation write home

Yesterday a friend posted on The Stamp Shack, that there would be a Memorial Blog hop on Operation Write Home.
Unfortunately because of the time difference between the UK and the USA, I was late entering my messages, but I wanted to pay my respects and cover as many as the 140+ participants blogs as I could. I tried everyone..... a lot I know, but I was disappointed when some would not let me leave messages saying I had an invalid URL. My apologies to those individuals!

After all nearly every country in the world has their own serving armed forces.
My own father, who as many of you know, sadly died last year at the age of 92, served in the Air force during World War 2.
Only this week a serving soldier was killed in the streets in London by terrorists. All these men need our recognition and I applaud each and every one.
I appreciate that one of the US ladies even left me a comment and joined my blog! Cheri at Stamp n Boomer, I thank you for that!
How creativity brings us all together, especially at poignant times like this.

This simple card is dedicated to all serving personal and their families. The stamps are by Sparklensprinkle

God Bless you all.

Thank you for stopping by and saying your howdy's. You are so sweet and I like you too! My dad served in the Korean War and died at a US Air Base after he retired, but was working on their air conditioning system several years ago. He worked all that day,the day he died, then stopped at the rec hall, said he wasn't feeling well and collapsed there. They think he had a heart attack. People like to go put flowers on the graves of soldiers here as part of their memorial day celebrations along with a picnic & sometimes fireworks. What do you do to celebrate the lives of your soldiers there?
