Nontraditional Mothers day blog hop from SparklenSprinkle

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Nontraditional Mother's Day Blog Hop, which begins at the SNS Home Blog
http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/

If you have now arrived here from visiting Jil Jacobsen blog http://www.stampinhands.com/ and admiring her beautiful work, then you are on the right track.

My nontraditional Mothers day card with this oriental image from SparklenSprinkle, is dedicated to all those women around the world who have "Dared to follow their dreams".
I can think of quite a few, here are some you might recognise.

American Abolitionist and Quaker, Lucretia Mott.
Russian cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova
Macedonian, Mother Theresa winner of the Nobel Peace prize.
The assassinated former Prime minister of India
Indria Gandhi.
Polish born Marie Curie the famous scientist.
Eleanor Roosevelt one of the first women elected to the American senate.
Queen Victoria of England one of the few people to rule an entire Empire.
Amongst these  famous ladies who "Dared to follow their dreams" I would have to add my own mother Nellie Bentley.

She was the inspiration to MY dreams and encouraged me through all my early years, but unfortunately she never lived to see me become the first woman Trade Union Officer in my profession. She also actively encouraged me with my love of art and the written word, that was later to bring me some small recognition as a designer and writer.

I would be very grateful if you would leave me some small comment after reading my"blurb".
Of course that helps you too,and gives everyone a chance  for Blog hop candy.

All done,  then hop on over to visit my friend Barbara Bruder at
http://artandsoulcreations.blogspot.com/

I am sure you will be delighted with what you will find there.

Good luck everyone..........and don't forget,

"Dare to follow YOUR dreams".

I never would have thought to use black on a Mothers' day card, but it works really well!

I like the colors you used and the sentiment on the front of the card. So many times mothers are so involved with their families that they don't take time to follow their own dreams. Great job. Karen Howard

There are very few things in a day that my mom didn't have a part in. Born in the South, she was the "true southern lady," soft spoken, lady like, with a will and back of steel. I thank her and you for making this so special. Lynne
