Wow am I busy!!!

I am super busy just now, but I wanted to post a card as I have not managed to blog for a few days.
This card was made using drink glass images from Sparklensprinkle.
It was for a challenge theme over at The Outlawz. My goodness that site keeps me busy producing LOL.
Not complaining though, as last month I won some very nice prizes.
Still my stamping might have to take a back seat for a little while. My DH and I are taking a late holiday soon.  I also have to get to grips with helping my daughter and her partner arrange a quiet wedding before departing on a honeymoon cruise next July. For now cherrio, be back stamping soon I promise

Not cards we use here in England

Over here in England making back to school cards is something we just don't do. However many of the card challenges on various American websites, around the first week in September, ask you to make these type of cards. Now I don't know whether they are for the children to give to their teachers, or, whether they give them to fellow students? Maybe someone will tell me LOL.
This particular design uses stamps from Uptown Rubber Stamps (clock), pen from(Posh Impressions) and apples from ( A stamp in the hand).
The background paper is from K & Company.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

A collection of cards

A card to meet The Outlawz National Dog Day. I wonder if he really does want a taste of that ice-cream.

A Card to meet The Outlawz  colour challenge using green, grey and peach. To include a twist you had to include a ribbon too!

The card on the right had to meet this weeks "sketch" Challenge over at The Outlawz.
I wanted to make a wedding anniversary card for my dear husband, so I hope he likes this design of mine.

The card to the left was required to have an inspirational theme over at The Outlawz.
This is one of my favourite images at the moment, and although I have used it before, this card is completely different. The challenge over at The Outlawz require us to use all three items, a brad, ribbon and a flower.

Back to school

Yes it is that time of year again! Many mothers and grand mamas breath a sigh of relief as children go back to school.
My Scottish grand children start their holidays much earlier than the English children,  so of course they are already back reading and writing. As usual, when they were here visiting during school holidays we took the opportunity to buy them their school uniforms. Living like they do on the Mull of Galloway in a small village, shops that provide school uniforms seem like a million miles away. My eldest grand daughter has also returned to university, so you could say term time as already begun in earnest. In creating this card I used two different corner punches and two different die-cuts. The stamp image is by Bravura Stamps.
I am entering this card for the following challenges

Great weekend for stamping!

I have had a wonderful weekend rubber stamping. My dear husband took off down to the Rugby final in London, which gave me lots of time to indulge myself crafting. Over on Outlawz Challenges we were required to make a card showing some of our favourite things. We have always loved traveling hence the background maps, and through the many friends we have made I now love to write letters and send cards. See the pen and the air mail delivery ticket?  I also love my garden so the addition of some flowers and a butterfly completed my collage.   The card below uses the same image from Crafters Companion but in a different format. I have always loved working with black and white medium and this one just has that pop of colour with the red bodice on the dress.  Colouring the dress took rather a long time as I chose to highlight the lace on the dress using a black gel pen.

The card below I made just for fun, and decided to send it to a rubber stamping friend of mine who loves angels. I have had this stamp for ages, in actual fact I seem to recall finding it in a garage sale on one of my visits to friends in North Carolina. It says on the side it was a product of Stampotique Originals Inc but whether they are still in business I don't know. I hope you enjoy looking at my creations as much as I enjoyed making them. Comments are always welcome.

Feeling blue

I managed to get some stamping done today, to enable me to join in two of
Outlawz Challenges. My first card (the one on the right) had to have three different colours peacock blue, cream and royal blue. I chose a vintage lady for my image, added some decorative papers, cut a cream border with Fiskars scissors and to finish the design off added ribbon and a bow. These 2 cards has been entered in the challenge over at http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.nl/2013/08/challenge-74-anything-goes-must-always.html
The card on the left was my second challenge where we were required to follow a sketch. All the stamp images I used were from               Sparkle N Sprinkle .....they have some lovely butterflies! I added a decorative back ground paper, some glitter dots and a matching flower before edging all four borders with a blue Permapaque marker pen. I would appreciate your comments Enjoy!

Published in Just Steampunk

A surprise awaited me on Friday morning. The mail that morning proved to be rather bulky, could it be a card magazine? Indeed it was, and inside I found a design of mine that had been published. I sent in this card ages ago, and completely forgot about it.
Obviously designing Steampunk requires a certain amount of metal embellishing. I had used a metal tag plate with metal brads to showcase the saying by Sparkle N Sprinkle . Also of metal were the jeans button on top of a circle of bakers twine. The tag by Crafty Individuals had a metal hinge complete with a square metal paper clip. The black and white beads threaded on matching bakers twine was secured at the ends using two metal flowers. A surprise for me that I hope you too enjoy.
I would like to submit this card to the CAS challenge over at http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/

If only they could find a cure!

If only they would find a cure for Cancer. Sending and making cards for someone suffering from this dreadful disease is never easy. However playing in an  Outlawz Challenge gave me the opportunity to use this digital image by Bugaboo digital stamps. The zany lady is fun and the words just perfect for this design. With the glasses I think she looks rather like dame Edna Everidge  !! Seriously, say a prayer and think of all those people suffering from Cancer, and then pray they discover a cure very soon.

A new place to "play"!

I have recently found a new place to "play"!! In other words a new place to hang out and participate in some of their challenges.
The site I found can be found at
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/
It is such a busy place with lots going on. A great site to promote your favourite stamp companies, meet new friends, and enter their many challenges. It does not matter if you are a newbie to rubber stamping or indeed have lots of experience, everyone is welcome. They have different challenges going on every day ( they run for a week so lots of time to become creative). There is some very nice sponsored prizes too. An addition you might like is a link to plenty other blogs to visit.
The card above is one I entered in their Monday challenge of Clean and Simple (CAS). This week we had to choose to use some primary colours, hence the design above. Enjoy.
